Description: This is a general document on reducing the size of an ALM database, reindexing tables, etc to increase performance and reduce the size on the database server.
Note: The document is currently under construction and more content will be added gradually.
Reducing database size: (Note: This option is available in ALM/LPM 5.0.1 and later versions)
- In the 32-bit console click on Tools - Maintenance.
- Click the "Run" button and wait for it to complete. This may take some time and may be executed and left to run on it's own.
- Some of the tables may contain white space and may maintain the overall size. It will be up to the database administrator if the database should be shrinked. (In other words...a database will auto-increase but there is no setting to auto-decrease when data is removed)
