Inventory won't update on 9.6 Event ID 4114 in Event Viewer - Scan file from {} contains a invalid Product Definition. Make sure the scanner is using a current ldappl3.ini file

Symptoms

 

 

Agent installs successfully, but inventory will not update. Scans go immediately to the error scan folder. In the Application view in Event Viewer, it shows the following Error:

      Cause

 

This issue is caused by new installed software not correctly being identified by the Inventory Scanner on the client machine.

 

 

Resolution 1

 

1. Stop the Inventory Scanner Service on your core.


2. On your core from command prompt browse to the Landesk\Management Suite folder

 

OS:

2012 r2: C:\Program Files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite

2008 r2: C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite

 

then run coredbutil.exe /xml=datamart.xml

 

Click Build components

 

When it finishes, close coredbutil.exe

 

then run coredbutil.exe /xml=datamartpm.xml

 

Build components.

 

3.  Restart Inventory Scanner Service on your core.

 

4. Run Inventory again. It should process successfully now.

 

Resolution 2

ted Products

1. Connect to your database

2 Open the query analyzer.

3. Run sp_help product.

4.Scroll down to the ³constraint² portion of the results and look for a default constraint on the DADefined column.

5. If you don¹t see it you can run the ALTER TABLE statement

6..Alter table product add constraint df_product_dadefined default 0 for dadefined.

7.You can then rescan or manually copy the scan files from ErrorScan back into ldscan.
