Description

When create a LANDesk encrypted folder, the  option to Allow administrator to recover your data would be greyed out.

gred.png

Cause

This is because there are multiple certs on the client (.0 file) that it will have the option grayed out. we have to use one of them to encrypt the data and if there are more than one,  the core doesn't have the private cert for one of them. The client only needs one cert on it. If you've had other core servers in the past it is possible to have more than one .0 file.

Resolution

Remove the .0 file which not match current core, you can open the .0 file with notepad to make sure which one match current core

file location

C:\program files\LANDesk\Shared Files\cbaroot\certs

C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\Shared Files\cbaroot\certs

Environment

LANDesk Management Suite 9.0 9.5
