LANDesk Security and Patch News
(December 19, 2012) LANDesk has released a patch for addressing the following defect with inventory and LDAVHLPR:
Inventory scans from LDMS 9.5 clients hangs if using the 9.5 ldavhlpr.dll. This did not occur in previous versions of LDMS or previous versions of ldavhlpr.dll. Killing LDISCN32.exe is the only way to stop the process. This only happens on XP devices. WIN7 does not have the problem. This can happen on devices that have Symantec Endpoint Protection (versions 12.x or 11.x) or McAfee VirusScan versions 8.x installed. These same devices with any of these anti-virus programs installed did not have this issue with the 9.0 SP3 agents.

- How many machines affected?
- How would you characterize the impact?
- Provide screenshots of the following:
- Task Manager with multiple LDISCN32.exe processes running.
- System Properties (for Windows version and service pack).
- About window for anti-virus program (for version verification).
- Details tab of the properties window for ldavhlpr.dll.
